Frequently asked questions.

Helpful Event Planning Resources…just for You!

Planning a major event is a lot of work, and we aim to be helpful as possible at all the different phases of your planning journey.

As your planning timeline progresses you will have (what feels like a never ending list) of specific questions, which is why we have created our very own free planning Reverie Resource Library. This includes tons of useful information like planning checklists, sample seating charts, vendor referrals, inventory lists, and so much more.

Of course, we also pride ourselves on being a great personal resource for you as well so our Reverie Team is happy to personally assist you with any planning questions you may have along the way.

How can we schedule a personal tour of Reverie?

We would love to show you our space and setting up your tour is as easy as following this link or calling Sarah Forschner, our Reverie Coordinator at 937-353-7313.

Hospitality is our thing and we love visitors; however, please schedule a tour with us as our spaces may be closed due to hosting an event. We don’t want to crash anyone else’s party after all.

What is the venue rental fee and what does it include?

We believe in pricing transparency so you can easily see all of Reverie’s venue pricing information HERE along with all the amenities, perks, and special features that are included with your rental. Be prepared for lots of great perks!

What event dates do you have available?

You can check Reverie’s availability HERE. When you inquire with us, please be sure to have a couple of possible dates in mind so that we can help you find the best open available date.

How do I reserve/book my date with Reverie?

To reserve a date, email Sarah Forschner at sarah.forschner@reveriedayton.com saying you are ready to book your preferred date. We recommend that you list your preferred date and then include a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable. Dates are reserved on a first requested basis followed by a signed contract and booking payment. Those are required to secure your date. We are able to hold dates for up to 48 hours.

Will there be another event the same day as mine?

Once you reserve your event with us, you are the only event that book on that date. We only host one wedding/event each day to ensure that each event is special and receives our full attention.

What parking options are there for guests?

We have easy, free parking galore! Since we’re part of SouthBrook Christian Church we are very well equipped to handle crowds of all sizes. We promise you that we have never run out of parking spaces for special events.

Is Reverie handicap accessible?

Our entire facility is Accessible. We offer Handicap Parking right outside of our main entrance, push button Handicap Access Doors at our main entrance, Handicap Restrooms, Handicap Access Ramp to our Chapel stage and designated Handicap Reserved Seating in our Chapel. Not to mention, our entire facility is single-story and does not have changes in elevation between event spaces.

All the answers for organizing the food and beverage needs for your special event at the Reverie Dayton wedding and special event venue.

Do you allow alcohol?

No great story started with everyone drinking milk, so we do allow alcohol at Reverie. However, only beer, spritzers, and wine are allowed (no hard liquor allowed). All alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured Caterer or BartenderHere is a link to our alcohol policy, but do not hesitate to contact us with any other questions you may have.

Can we use any catering or bartending service that we want?

ABSOLUTELY! We are an OPEN VENDOR venue and want to give our couples the flexibility to choose whatever best fits their needs. We have hosted events with food provided by seasoned wedding caterers, local restaurants, and even food trucks. Keep in mind that you can NOT make your own food, no matter how great Aunt Hilda’s cooking is, unless they provide a COI (Certificate of Insurance with SouthBrook Christian Church and Reverie listed as “Additionally Insured.”) Our kitchen is a prep kitchen, which means you can’t actually cook food on-site. All food must be cooked off-site and brought in.

Is there a food, beverage, or guest count minimum?

Many venues have minimums because they make a commission from food and beverage based on how much you spend with them. We want your food options to be as elegant or affordable as your budget permits; thus, we don't have a food, beverage, or guest count minimum. Keep in mind that some caterers may have a reasonable minimum order, but we are not privy to each caterers requirements.

Do you provide table linens, plates, glasses, etc.?

Reverie provides an beautiful venue, tables, chairs, and other bonus features for weddings and events. However, linens, china, glassware, and other decor items can be rented through our suggested event suppliers (or your caterer), but are NOT included with Reverie.

Plan all the details of your wedding or special event with Reverie Dayton.

Can we do our own decorating?

Though we pride ourselves on giving you a beautiful canvas to start with, you are welcome to make our space your own.  Our only restrictions are no tape, tacks, or nails used to fasten anything to our wood, fabric or painted surfaces.  Please see any of our staff for other decorating questions you may have.

How will the tables and chairs be arranged for my event?

After you book Reverie, you will be given a password to access our Reverie Resource Library. There you will be able to view several suggested floor plans based upon guest list totals. We will reach out to you to determine your preferred layout prior to the big day and have all those pieces set for you. All you, caterer, florist, or planner will have to do is decorate and set those tables.

We want to have cocktail tables setup outside in the Courtyard. Can we use your tables and barstools for that?

While we do have tall cocktail tables and barstools, they are for indoor use only. However, you can easily rent tall (bistro) and short (cafe) tables and chairs to add extra tables and seating outside.

Do we get to do a wedding rehearsal at Reverie?

Yes, you can do a 1 hour rehearsal the Thursday before your event date or on your wedding day.

I see that you offer pre-marital mentoring with Southbrook Church. Is it required that we use it?

We do believe that marriage is an amazing start to a new life together and we encourage you to use the wonderful pre-marital counseling/mentoring that SouthBrook offers. However, it is not required that you partake of those services in order to reserve Reverie for your wedding ceremony and/or reception.

Do you provide an Officiant or can we use our own?

If you would like, we have several Licensed Pastors on staff and would be happy to provide you with a list of names. If you prefer to book your own Officiant or Pastor, they must be licensed in the State of Ohio (or a state that Ohio accepts). They will also need to speak to our Pastoral lead. Contact us to talk this through.

Can we get married elsewhere on the property or does it have to be in the Chapel?

Our Chapel is a modern, yet elegant, space for ceremonies complete with all the Audio Visual tools that you could hope for. Nevertheless, we know that the great outdoors can beckon. Our Garden Courtyard is a beautiful outdoor space connected to our Atrium that also makes for a lovely ceremony location. It can comfortably accommodate up to 230 guests (you will have to rent outdoor chairs from a rental company). The best part is knowing that should Mother Nature not cooperate, you have a rain plan just steps away in the Chapel.

Is there an extra fee to use your dressing suites?

We do not wish to nickel and dime our guests so there is no extra fee for our dressing suites when you purchase the Reverie Package or a Ceremony Only Package. If you wish to purchase a Reception Only package, there is an additional fee. We have two (his/hers) dressing suites available full of amenities and space for you and your wedding party to get ready and relax. We’re actually known for our dressing suites so be sure to check out our suites on our website tour.

Do you allow real candles?

No open flames allowed inside Reverie. Battery operated candles only. Exceptions are with stand alone moments such as a Unity Candle Ceremony.

Are we allowed to have outside snacks and drinks while we get ready?

Yes, and we encourage you to eat before your event because wedding days are long. Many couples bring in fruit/veggie trays, bagels and coffee from Panera Austin Landing, or sandwiches from their favorite deli.

Where can we take photos at Reverie?

Photographers love Reverie because we have so many unique indoor and outdoor spaces to use for photographs. Should you want something a little extra, we are very close to Cox Arboretum or Historic Miamisburg, Ohio.

What decorating can we do?

We kindly ask that you do not tack, tape, or nail anything to our walls. We hope that you will find them beautiful without any extra work! For ceiling swags, special backdrops, or hanging floral installations, we do require that an approved and insured vendor install them. Feel free to ask our team for any clarification.

What is the event clean up process?

Our Reverie Team will handle all standard clean-up. However, you, your caterer, or event planner are solely responsible for removing all food-related trash, and you are solely responsible for removing all personal items from the dressing suites 3 hours after the ceremony, and all decor items belonging to you after the event.

I am so happy we chose Reverie for our special day! The staff works so well as a team to communicate and respond back to any question you may have leading up to the day and they will help you create the most perfect day.

I think I tried over 10 seating charts and Abbie was so patient with me. They are open to trying new ideas for decoration, which you need very little of due to the simplistic beauty of the venue space itself, both chapel and receptionist space. There are beautiful outdoor areas to take pictures at as well.

The campus support staff was on their a game the whole night and the hosts covered the behind the scenes so we didn’t have to worry about a thing all day! I would recommend Reverie to anyone I know looking for a venue! 10/10!
